Ingenuous Eyes

Short poem about a girl trying too hard to fit in. She is naive and in the end,she doesn't even know who she is.

She isn't as real as she tries to be
She forces herself to be what they want to see
Society she perseveres to impress
In the end leaving her to depress

She walks around feeling as empty as a ghost
Because she's realizing her soul was long lost
They dictate her what to do
The prevarication she can barely see through

Her eyes covered by mere lies
Her ears blocked from all the desperate cries
she is too oblivious
To realize the obvious
