Little Child

Little Child

A Poem by Pumkin
"

I swear I got creeped out while writing this so I asked my younger sister to say in the room with me. I then changed the whole poem since I was too scared to continue.

Little Child

Little child is born into the world

With cute eyes, lips, nose, a tiny voice that is inaudible

And small baby hairs that are slightly curled

Little child is so adorable

Little child is growing up

Learns things like a little baby bird

Learns how to drink from a small plastic cup

And says little child's first word

Little child is hurt now

Because little child fell down

And little child says ow

But laughs when someone acts like a clown

Little child goes to school

with a red, blotchy, tear stained face

But soon thought school was super cool

And had fun learning about things like space

But the world wouldn't spare that little child

No, the world is crueler than that

So the world strived to take away that little child's smile

Saying things like your better dead and that little child is fat

Now that little child does not smile anymore

Because little child struggled to win

So little child hid behind a mental door

Struggling to defeat the scary monsters within

But little child is really just a little child

How can a little child fight in a mental war?

A war that was going wild

Little child really did not understand anymore

So what happened to that little child you may ask

Well, little child was finally strong enough

Strong enough to put away that fake mask

Though it had been very difficult and tough

But it was still too late

The monsters had taken control

The ones that are filled with hate

The ones that take control of the heart and soul

And that's how they found little child

Laying in a pool with a knife imbedded deep within

Twitching in pain once in awhile

All because little child had let the monsters win

Well done. Such a powerful image and truly heart wrenching. It makes the message against bullying so much stronger when the victim is so innocent. I don't know what the original poem was going to be but I don't think it could have surpassed this.
