What A Wonderful WorldA Poem by PumkinWhat A Wonderful World The older kids trail after one another While the younger ones jumped and twirled They said they only need each other And I think to myself, what a wonderful world They sleep outside while the wind blows hard And the next day they talk about their dreamworld Including everyone including the ones who are abused or scarred And I think to myself, what a wonderful world The weathers cold and the fires low But I see how they all are curled While sharing stories about a man with a bow And I think to myself, what a wonderful world The wind blows away their cardboard home But they still joke about how it's better than being in the netherworld While admiring an dirty old broken comb And I think to myself, what a wonderful world They have so little but desire even less Despite the hunger, pain and cold they feel They all are proud and say their life is full of success And to an outsider like me it seems so surreal They aren't afraid of the hunger or to die They say that loneliness is what they all fear None are afraid of the danger but instead of saying good bye And surprisingly none wanted their real family to reappear In their tight knit family, no one is above someone and no one is below And I just realised that to them, this is their dreamworld Despite the hardships, their smiles are bright and you see them glow And I think to myself, what a wonderful world By DEVILSANGEL7 © 2017 Pumkin |
