A Poem by Dylan James

Babe, you don’t even know.
You don’t know
That when I see you,
my eyes well up with tears like a dam about to burst.
You don’t know
that when I touch you,
I long to hold on like a tree roots to the ground.
Oh baby,
You don’t know
that when I hear you,
my ears ring like wedding bells.
You don’t know
that when you leave,
I die like an annual flower,
and when you come back I bloom again.
What you do know,
is I love you.
And what I know,
is you love me too.
