Theme Song of Silence

Theme Song of Silence

A Poem by Sarah Jane
"

-Be like that, Three Doors Down. For some of their lyrics

"

I slip in these earbuds

Forcing your words to blur

These lies to fade

I stare into such empty eyes

Watch your lips spit at me

Moving mine to my favorite song

Though you still move

Live as if I'm listening

I just peer from my chair

The laughter the smiles

How fake they seem without sound

How dead we all are under the music

Making silent memories

To be stored for my dreams

Set to their own little song

How happy they all look

"If I could be like that

I would give anything

Just to live one day

In those shoes

If I could be like that

What would I do?"

Would I look as phoney as they do?

Fake under such silence?

I was once instructed in an class to turn off the volume of my television to see if the actors portrayed the part convincingly or if they were pretentious. Great Poem!

Wonderful. This makes me think about musical artists. You have to wonder if they've been threw that is in their lyrics.
