Unnoticed From Your Throne

Unnoticed From Your Throne

A Poem by DRIVEN

From the throne

on which you're placed

you gaze upon

our working class face

and believe that you

are better suited

to stand above

while we remain muted

Needing the money

you throw at our feet

you fail to notice

your eyes we don't meet

and in contempt

we watch you lose

the loyalty given

we no longer choose

For you never see

what is given and shared

yet we continue to give

even if you've not cared

because we work as one

and keep notice ourselves

what we do to ensure

sale of stock on the shelves

And then you wonder

when another chance comes

to take us away

from under your thumb

what you did to deserve

such an unloyal ridding

as we care somewhere else

and make a much better living

We all got to do it if we want food, clothing and a roof over our heads. Work our buts of while the choosen stands on his throne, and we remain invisible.

You discribed maddness of the working stiff who has no choice.

excellent write.

Perfect ode to an election year. Great flow and construction which made it enjoyable. True emotion of the working class toward those in power and who believe that they transended the status of those who have empowered them with the position. Great read!
