A Story of Boy Meets Girl

A Story of Boy Meets Girl

A Poem by Lydia Jamison

She was a lonely girl,
By herself in an empty world.
No matter how hard she tried,
She never could seem to find
Someone who really understood her.
Nobody was good enough for her.

He was a handsome boy.
He was so shy, so charmingly coy.
Intelligent and kind,
Misunderstood for his mind.
Nobody cared to look through.
Nobody knew the truth.

By chance, she was passing by.
She never meant to catch his eye.
He stopped and stared,
And they laughed, but he didn't care.
Because she was staring right back.

That day he walked her home.
She finally didn't feel so alone.
So time went by,
The clouds lifted from the sky.
The sun began to shine again,
As they slowly became more than friends.

Now she stands by the doors
In her white dress, she's not a girl anymore,
And as she walks down the aisle,
She sees her best friend smile.
They aren't so lonely anymore.

You're scheme is great! I love the image you brought to mind- very cute! Takes me back when I was a little kid, sitting on the front steps with my next door neighbor .. sharing licks of an icecream cone!
