The End of the Road

The End of the Road

A Poem by Tasha
"

Inspired by the song by Boys 2 Men.

"
I thought things would last forever
I didn't think it would end here
At the end of the road
All our memories,
Our laughs,
Our  cries,
Are left at the end of the road
of where we once stood...
No more hugs,
No more smiles,
how did we reach the end of the road?
I thought we cared for one another...
Well I cared for you...
I don't know if you cared for me...
Its unnatural,
You belong with me,
I belong with you,
And our times, at the end of the road
Shows that we need to accept the fact
That we've driven to the end of the road,
And we're hanging off the cliff of love
And there's nothing we can do about it,
But hopefully land in safe grass

Author's Note

 Tasha
I've decided to try something new. I want to add a line of a favorite song into my poems. It's different and I could really use your help... if this is a good idea or not. This title and lines "Its unnatural, you belong with me, I belong with you." is from Boys 2 Men and their song "End of the Road."

I think it's a good idea so long as you give credit to the source. Which is what you have done. With that being said I think you did a good job at making a poem from your favorite song. With you telling us that it was inspired by the song I can see where it is going and how you managed to stay true to the essence of the song. Very good

That works well , the words belong all , and perusing and recycling them is showing way on how to take care of this planet also . Well , I am trying to teach here something , no way ! I am only showing my way , so I might use "land in safe grass" somewhere . I love your experiment , well done penning .

Very well written! The confusion of never knowing if it's going to last! Relationships & life has so many up & downs that sometimes we feel like we're never in control! I think we all hate never being in control, but then never knowing what lyes ahead does make life interesting! Still it doesn't lesson the pain we feel with a relationship that you thought was working, but didn't! Kudos again on a write we all understand!

There are millions of roads on this planet, depending on which road you take, it could never end, and just keep on going and going, all around the world, but if you take the wrong road, it will startlingly come to an abrupt halt. :)
But I like your perspective....:) Your pieces are steadily improving...and I know that you'll probably just ignore when I say this, but keep in mind what I said awhile back about "letting ideas sit"...:)

Nice very creative with using the road and mountian to show as an ending to a relationship, time together, and a once lov. Wonderful job in descriptions and all. Excellent idea to use a song as a reference espcially that song mixing with a lost love.
