Wingless Butterfly

Wingless Butterfly

A Poem by Daniela Diaz

She wakes up every morning with so much in her head.
She's afraid that someone else will tear her down again.
Her fears keep her down because she's afraid to fly,
As soon as she opens her wings she gives up and doesn't give it another try.
While she reminisces about all the bad, he walks in and takes her hand
With tears in her eyes she pled "you can't save what is wrecked"
He pulled her in closer as she wept
He's next words were something i could't accept
"Open your wings and we will fly together, just know that i'm here with you forever."

I see love as a neverending geyser that is capable of flowing through us forever but as we go through life, we attach a tap to it (a fawcett for my American cousins lol) and that reduces the flow then someone comes along and opens the tap and then they wreck the tap. We are better off without ANY sort of tap/fawcett on the source of love and when we allow it to freeflow then no one can stop the flow - they will be washed aside if they try to interfere with it but they can - if they so wish - choose to drink from it and to bathe in it.

thanks for sharing Dani D.

Thank you for reading! :)
Very true, after hurting just once its hard to put yourself out there again and even when you do, trust becomes an issue but again it takes 1 patient hand to guide you out of that misery. I love your writing...

When you are feeling as fragile as a butterflies wing, it can be difficult to think of flight and all the dangers involved. A hand to guide you will help. Take that hand away and all the fears return, multiplied.
Hope you fly again.
