Aftermath

Aftermath

A Poem by dangerbooze
"

Something I found from an old little book of attempted poetry in high school. It wasn't filled with many fond memories as you can see.

"
Oh, to dream a little dream
But you've kept yours buried
Locked and shunned
Like the love you once carried

Hold me tight
Destroy me one smile at a time
Smother me with emotion
That fury divine

Push me away
Down into that cold, mournful place
What better way to forget
A much beloved face.

I do believe I first wrote this just after my sixteenth birthday. It wasn't as "sweet" of a sixteenth birthday that I hoped it would be.

reminds me of a relationship I was in. and I do believe that I'm still in it, in a way.

I absolutely adore the second stanza.

i understand you, i don't even celebrate my birthdays, huh. The words of this piece drives the readers emotion profoundly and clearly. I enjoyed this poem much more than your last one. Good work . your rhymes are most enjoyable as well.

I'm a lazy writer. I write what I feel when I feel like it. But to be more specific, I have a constant case of writer's block about pretty much every thought that I can think of or even consider. .. more..
