A Poem by Complex Disaster

We've all become so silent
All out of good things to say
In my arms lay someone that wasn't mine
A world of confusion and fright ran us blind                   What made you think we'd be safe here?
Speaking in waves of empty confidence, lacking pride and drained of any sanity
Life in a plastic bag again, sent the wrong direction by the wind
Salvation in a brown paper bag again, truth and destiny lying at a dead end
So many hours lost, so much more I didn't know
Why did we end up here and why does smoke fill this home?
Had we ever been here alone?
Grass grows through the floor of this place and I feel as if my skin grows mold
Where has my life and my sanity gone and why does smoke fill this home?

If I travel again, I'll be terrified, just a corpse in the gutter
A casualty of internal war, that should have never left the womb
Baptize me in mortar, or smoke will fill this home
