Love's Anonymous

Love's Anonymous

A Poem by Terrell A. Pullen

I sit in a room
In a circle with others who share my gloom
Our stories are different
Our situations are the same
They ask me to stand
Tell the rest of the group my name

I say I am...
Tired of liking and loving
And loving and liking
And...
Finding out about him

No sound come from the rest of the tired men
They just sit
With a look in their faces in agreement

I say I am...
Tired of seeing and wanting
And wanting and seeing
And...
Finding out about him

I am tired...
Tired of I like you
I want you
I need you
I love you but...
There is him

They cheer...
I look at the rest of them and I see...
They all,
Each and everyone of them
Look just like me

Same situation
Same tired
Just a different she!
