Can You Sin with a Straight Face?A Poem by Stormy WeatherOne poem made out of a bunch of little ones. Tried to experiment with the usage of aphorisms. Might've failed on that.
Nothing I think is ever good enough to say.
And even if it's beautiful, I'm still having a bad day. I wish I could rewind to when, I thought I was in heaven, But even then I was sadly mistaken... And even while you're floating; stuck in purgatory, Your heart still has a story, that your lips refuse to speak. Memories of my childhood flood me, and I wonder how I was so happy, When I was always drowning in deceit. Only when the wine is sour and stale, is when you can taste the sin As it dances across your tongue. Nothing fresh inspires remorse, Only time can take its course. I long to lay on the grassy mound, and watch the clouds swirl Overhead. The swirls of white and gray can't help but remind me, Of my diseased, rotting dreams that lurk above my bed. If my mistakes were like the stars, I'd only have to see them at night. My smile would stay all throughout the day. I could've kept my sight. Nothing I think is ever relevant enough to speak. Only the strong allow themselves to be weak.
