Solo

A Poem by Dark Tower

Solo

you don't know me
You think you do
But you really don't
Nobody handed a thing to me
I had to prove that I wanted it most
People killed my dreams
And now I'm surrounded by the ghost
I'm devoted to the core
But only to myself
When bad luck came knocking
Nobody offered any help
Only interested in helping themselves
People who worm their way into my circles
But aren't ready to square dance
It will hurt you
When I throw you off of your ivory tower and watch you face plant

I swear to God
I'll never be anything other than me
And when it comes to my best friend
In the mirror is the only place he can be seen
I look now at what I've become
All the choices I've made
Some of the things that I have done
If I could go back in time
I wouldn't undo a single one
Win or lose
I'm going to do it on my own feet
You might think I'm crazy
But senile parrots suck seed

Honest and good words and thoughts shared. I did like the ending.
"Win or lose
I'm going to do it on my own feet
You might think I'm crazy
But senile parrots suck seed "
I like the strong ending above. Always good to read your amazing poetry and thoughts.
