Happiness

Happiness

A Poem by S. D. Blankenship

Happiness?

Does it really exist?

Can you find it in money?

Or in the high dollar shoes on your feet?

Is it a food?

Can you call it a tweet?

Was she ever mine?

I still think of her no matter what the time.

Was I just her puppet?

Someone on a string?

I helped her.

She gave my a fling.

But kept the ring.
The ceiling now as blue as the sky.
Happiness, where did she go?

Was it all just a no-love-show?

"She gave my a fling."
I think "my" should be changed to "me"

I liked this poem. It's philosophical without being overly deep, it's simplistic but clear, and the reader can get a feel for the emotion of the piece.

"Happiness, where did she go?
Was it all just a no-love-show?"

I think those two lines were my absolute favorites in this poem. They go together incredibly well; they are within the whole work almost a separate poem.

Well-written and very to-the-point. Good work!

This is wonderful and I agree with all the reviews. You kept it simple but broached a deep topic. Great imagery and eloquently worded.

A ridiculous idea came to me while reading this poem, I wonder if tweeting makes people more happy! Do you think so?

You certianly confronted this topic in an original and readable way. Thanks SDB.

She gave me a fling but kept the ring...lol, this made me smile. I hope this was not inspired by real events? This was a fun poem to read...you need to write more poems..they are quite amusing. :))

I love this... Cute but serious... Happiness masked itself in many forms and eludes us often.. Great job!

Interesting, fun write. While most might sound bitter and glum... you maintain an upbeat quality.
Good pace. Well done.
