We used to be friends

But now we really aren’t

But we’ve drifted apart

So much time has passed

And now we live so far away

Things aren’t like they used to be

I wish things hadn’t changed

I rarely hear your voice

And I never see your face

I wish we could be together

Just like the good old days

Things are just so different now

Some how it all just slipped away

I guess life is funny like that

The way time seems to change

Maybe its cause I’m older now

Seeing things a different way

But I never thought it’d be like this

Watching time just tick away

I cry now much more often

And I smile even less

I used to be so optimistic

And now I’m always depressed

I think the time has come

And I should just let it go

Our friendship was in the past

I just wish it hadn’t passed so fast
