Bad Cess

Bad Cess

A Poem by David Lewis Paget

There is something that feeds on the evil
It finds in the well of its mind,
To bolster the work of the devil
And other bad cess it might find,
It joys in the hurt it is causing
It revels in pain it may bring
To all who once loved and adored it,
For it never loved anything.

Revenge is the one thing that drives it,
A payback to feed discontent,
But it does it in dark and in hiding,
It’s sly and it doesn’t repent,
It tries to unwrap any secrets
That may have been hidden from view,
In diaries, letters and journals,
Or letters, specific to you.

It doesn’t know shame in its spying,
That others feel only disgust,
A soul that is black and repulsive
That’s headed for Hell, as it must,
It thinks its success is so clever
And laughs when revealing its scar,
But others laugh at you, not with you,
And evil, you know who you are!

So true David, a blight on the world are those who revel in destroying the lives of others with the use of any gossip and spying they can dig from dark holes, a strong condemnation of them all my friend :)

Different way to describe it. Some evil must lurk in most of us...especially the wanting to get even one. Valentine

well done ...and the evil hates it when exposed so thoroughly ..would much prefer to be a caricature in pitch fork and red ... the slyness of evil knows just how to tweek human pride, fear, lust etc. and is relentless ... but each stand we take in a simple "no" makes the allure lessen .. and eventually we become confident in our victory .. like quitting smoking ... every once in a while the impulse returns from, seemingly, out of nowhere ... its like the devil is saying "Just checking" :)

This is absolutely beautiful. Foreboding, as well as righteous. Clean finish. This is the kind of work I not only respect, but also look up to.

Very good description on evil and its sly conniving ways. Your poem tells of evil knowing its own future demise but still always planning pain and deceit on others. Well written my friend.

This is a wounded, angry write of being the focus of suspicion and mistrust and how it tears at the very foundation of every relationship around such a person.
