A Song of Social Preservation

A Song of Social Preservation

A Poem by Dayran
"

Dedicated to the hero of the ' Yogamaya.'

"

He faces the greatest odds, looking serene,

Be it temporary, illusion, real, he combines them all.

For he wants to be friendly, a social experience,

To talk to another, to get along with others,

For life is such, here today and gone tomorrow,

And he champions it, fights to preserve it,

It is the flame that guides us through it all,

Simple, pleasant, easy to understand,

' If you believe it, then its true,'

' Each individual is true by their own account.'

Such perceptions are the heart of the universe,

Its nerve and impulse and the drive to life eternal.

The hero wades through it all, takes the knocks,

And comes back for more. For he is the enthos,

Seizes the day, in the life of men, with a heart that perseveres,

Rising to meet the bend in the road, as it steers to know itself,

Rises from the ditch and continues the journey.

Hurrah, for the hero! Yes, we must always get up and go and get battered again and again by the manager set above us, the police superintendent, the doctor, the successful and the smug. We should sink our teeth into their ankles and grind away until we get our way, snarling all the while to let them know.

how do you define 'social preservation' (loosely or explicitly). I really want to know.
