Autumn's End

Autumn's End

A Poem by Walter Scott Morrison
"

Just a poem that always brings me back to late November

"

Autumn’s End

A morning’s pale yellow sun,

A lingering faded moon,

Trapped motionless blistering my eyes,

Shimmering in the morning dew,

The fields all awakening,

As golden rays fall across the earth,

Autumned leaves of the chestnut trees,

Bursting color in its birth,

White and violet blossoms,

Vacillating in the wind,

As the leaves begin to stray,

From every crimson brim,

The air becomes crisp,

The sky a somber gray,

Snowflakes begin drifting down,

At the end of autumn’s day

Outstanding imagery throughout-- very rich in texture. Love the nature quality here. Creative use of the words "awakening" and "birth". Usually these words are you know the end of winter and beginning of spring. That's cool how you flip floped it to may it more unique know what I mean.

Flowing autumn from the start, sweetly descriptive, ' Vacillating in the wind, ~ As the leaves begin to stray, ~ From every crimson brim, '

Thank you for sharing such a colourfully calm poem.
