You Are Killing Me, The Immortal

You Are Killing Me, The Immortal

A Poem by Deadline

My name will fall through the cracks of history,
Yet I will wander on.
Many men will fall before me,
And some may have actually been strong.

My body and my mind shall transcend all,
While my heart breaks time and again.
Many places shall I visit before I fall,
And perhaps I never will see the end.

This is the curse you cannot comprehend,
To be alive - to be life.
To see the deaths of many a friend,
And still only be able to recall lies.

If only my memories could be true,
Maybe I wouldn't hate so much.
If only my words never reached you,
I wouldn't fall in love at every gentle touch.

But this is the legend I live.
I shall walk alone through time itself.
I will continue to take and to give,
Until my will shatters this hell.

You will forget me, and I will forget you.
Only half of that is true.
I shall rise to command all beginnings, and all ends.
Yet, I hope you are one thing I will not forget
