Mirror

Mirror

A Poem by Deandra Dawn

In the mirror she saw no recognition,
no resonating desire of critical opinion.
Only a veteran of substantial pain
with a detachment of emotions...
lost eyes...
A spellbinding recollection
of a masterful massacre
of ones beauty,
personality...
In the mirror there is truth.
In the mirror there is the spatter of
one's lost identity.
The mirror cannot tell you that you are
beautiful
It can only show you what
vibrance
 you could potentially hold.
Try to smile....
beautiful smile
in the mirror

A sad read. For me, the shattering of personality holds some truth. Rather, the massacre of it. I liked it, very much, despite the emotion of sadness it drew out. Powerfully written.

Gee
Mood dependant, the mirror will reveal many things but never the same thing twice. I look, not very often, and see the puzzled face of "Jesus, where did all of that time go".
Nicely written
