Persuasion

Persuasion

A Poem by Deandra Dawn

PERSUASION

Persuasion of the heart
persistence of the mind
reeling in determination
naked sophistication
antagonizing narcosis
reinventing your liberation
narrowing originality
powerless practicality

In some ways this reminds me of a woman talking about her man, which if i am off the mark than tell me. But this sort of makes me think of the last straw before a she finally writes that note, text, or email saying why she is tired of him.

Yet again, I may as be as wrong as a tourist sitting at SFO when their flight is at Oakland International. But the images are very clear and make me think of a guy missing life, not seeing whats in front of him, and a girl just wanting and leaving.

I like the lexicon in this one, and i'm not an easy sell. i like the differentiation between the practical versus the original. well done.

Wow. This is really powerful just in its sheer concise-ness and complete lack of connectives. Am I right in assuming this refers to drug use and abuse? Otherwise, I may have gotten completely the wrong gist (actually, I first thought the 'persuasion' alluded to immoral advertising! lol) but this flows like a haiku and is just brilliant succinct. Wonderful!
