~~Letting Go ~~

~~Letting Go ~~

A Poem by Debbie_Philly

Letting Go

I released my problems with exhausted breathlessness

as if helium was the magic ingredient.

A secret whisper with years of frustrations entering

each colored balloon.

Up they go one by one with a wisp of my breath each

one floating on clouds of fate and hope.

The breezy feeling of it all comparable to that of a refreshing

shower washing my troubles down the drain.

Anointed beads of forgiveness beat gently on my face.

Each delicate vessel holds a different pain.

A distinguishable emotion that has caused me distress,

anxiety, misery , sorrow.

I let them go filled with doubt and heavy heart, freeing

me from disillusions that have held me captive.

What a daunting task for these fragile creatures filled

with my manifestations of anguish.

Some may make their way back down to me from time

to time , that’s life.

Now I close my eyes breath in then out filling my spheres

of freedom, cross my fingers and then ……….

LET GO !!!!!!!!

Woooww.... Much respect to such thoughtful conception....
It was really a clever choice; thinking of depicted the entire process in details.....
I like your poem so much... I am a person who completely believes in forgiveness and all the alleviation it always brings... I also, respect your bravery- only the brave can forgive..♥
My favorite lines:-
*Each delicate vessel holds a different pain
*Some may make their way back down to me from time
to time , that’s life.
*Now I close my eyes breath in then out filling my spheres
of freedom, cross my fingers and then ……….

Awww Brian thank you so much !! :)
What a stunning picture of even a solitary moment of complete freedom. I love the images of the balloons, they may ebb and flow but more often than not they do not land from where they were launched. We can lighten our emotional load in a barrage of color. This is a true gem of an uplifting poem.

Has to be one of the best Pieces you've written. Wow!! The only reason I stopped by, was I saw your name on that thingy on the right side of my screen. Just a beautifully written poem. I started out here years ago, and they've kept all the trinkets I've won, but I seldom come here, anymore. Have forgotten how to navigate it. lol. Anyway, you should be VERY proud of this work. :)

WOW. This poem is an exhalation. It is bliss. It is melting into the comfort of summer grass at the end of the day....
It is so far from my own personal reality but yet - you took me there. Such a strong write.

At last, you are free from negative feelings!
This is a very inspiring piece. I remember myself drawing all my heartaches in a piece of paper...then after my last tear, I burn it with a promise that I will be a new being.
That's right. We have to let go.

A stimulating piece, Debs. Thanks for sharing this. :)

Not trying to be funny - this is a sincerely uplifting piece! I love the vivid metaphor, and the acknowledgment that some problems "may make their way back down... that's life". Reading this was as cathartic as actually releasing those balloons would be... Great write!

Letting go what impedes us the most is what life's about in terms of growing to become a better person. I like the concept of sealing personal problems in said balloons and releasing them in the air. They can float away forever. You're then left with living a better life for yourself overall. Great work. :)
