As The Pages Turn

A Poem by Debra Stevens Edwards (debby)

As The Pages Turn

Down through History what then, as pages turn

What from this era will people someday learn?

How so quickly a Nation can be brought down?

When links to Al-Qaida are swept under ground?

Will the new terrorism begin right here at home?

Then as we sit here and watch or even condone?

What of Christians and those who still pray?

Of the many what will our histories then say?

Will we be persecuted for what we believe?

As so many others are then truly deceived?

You pretend to be a man of God, but I see your not,

As you fool the masses and appoint your own lot.

I see through the façade to what’s really inside you.

The anti-Christ is biding his time quietly waiting it’s true.

Will this earth then become a new hell and burn?

Or will History teach us something else as the pages turn…
