Asphalt

Asphalt

A Poem by Decemberist
"

Running on an endless road...

"

It’s cold

The asphalt under my feet

It’s dark

The course I’m roaming

It frightens me

How unbending it is

It angers me

How much I’ll struggle

The road

They have paved for me

The life

They have chosen for me

It won’t alter

It won’t diminish

It

Won’t

Let

Me

Jump

Into

The

Meadow

Deep thoughts and a wonderful way you have of expressing your feelings here. I think all young people feel this way I know I did when I was your age you have made the emotion expressed in this write stand out

I like the ending to this very good poem. If you don't like the road you are on. Find a better one. There is wisdom in your words. A excellent poem. Thank you.

I love how you arranged the words like that in the end. I can personally relate to your poem, as my life has been practically planned by my parents, although I make detours they always manage to make me go back to the "main road". Nice piece.
