Crocodile Tears

Crocodile Tears

A Poem by Decemberist
"

As I was writing this poem, I thought: What if a girl's mother was murdered? And what if she knew who the murderer was?

"
On your ruddy face is a phony smile

An oily one of a scam artist

And when you touch my shoulder

With that big, white hand

It’s all I can do not to spew up breakfast.

You sneer those nasty words into my ear

The slogan of the day

The words echo in my ear

So I box my own ears to keep them out

Feel better, feel better, feel better

When you see my disgust, my pain,

The rivers flowing off my cheeks

Your mouth forms a comical ‘O’

And 'struggling' to hide your taunting smile ,

Your giddiness

You cry tears of a Crocodile.

Congratulations

You have wept for your own victim.

Thoughts? Opinions?

I didn't mean for the 'two parts' to be different; the words 'struggling' and 'pity' were supposed to be thick with sarcasm but I'm guessing I didn't portray that correctly.
I edited the poem a little to lessen the confusion...
Crocodile tears: tears of fake remorse

Dense, by that I mean hard to understand IMO the first part of the piece doesn't "go" with the second. 1st the persona is telling the subject of the poem that it is making the persona disgusted---- Then the subject seems to be surprised by the persona's reaction and "struggles" to hide it's pity? To me the two parts just don't come together in a satisfactory conclusion. I do not rate this poem because I do not if it is finished yet.
