Depression

I am trying out a new style of writing

the smile is a lie they tell you

to make themselves invisible

because  hope is a bird that flew

and now they are miserable.

this is another thing they do

to make themselves feel fixable.

their self-doubt, though truly baseless,

paints that smile over a grimace.

Not bad. A little simple and plain, but there are some good images in here - the first three lines, for example, are probably the best. Don't forget to make things beautiful and, in this piece, I'd say you could expand a bit more if you wanted to. Good work.
