Death Hath Visited Me

Death Hath Visited Me

A Poem by Absentee Reality Check
"

A Stange bit of pondering i did at one point

"

Death hath visited me

And it was shrouded not in darkness but in the cloth of my neighbor.

In its eyes there showed not hate but reluctance.

No vengeance lay within.

Its heart bore no evil, only hope that another time would come when it gained another fate.

And it wore chains just as I do, chains of cutting glass, bejeweled manacles of free will.

Its feet still tread upon the path to which they had been set just as mine do.

Death hath visited me and I found a name within it,

A name without a single meaning.

I called it life.

What do you call it?

Very well written. An awesome poem. Leaves the reader to wander.

Ah, the life and death is one poem. Nicely done with a good choice of words for this. It is well written and has a good form and structure to it. The pondering questions within make the reader question their own thoughts on life and death. It is something that is done often, but you have done it well. XX
