Perceptions blurr

just my rambling mind off on a journey :P

As cracked masks burn,

rose colored shades drip molten glass

upon fallen sky charring,

while the world chokes back a "wolf!"

and laughter fills the silence,

we realize they really are watching us.

 

As we pull the strings to open our minds

and drift down to breathe deep in the towering well

of sweet understanding, unzip your lips

and cry "true!" to their "false!"

Draw down the moon, wrap your mind around it and take it along

while we realize no one is normal.

I adore the imagery in this piece, the masks, burning, dripping molten glass... so powerful and confusing. I don't care for the three dialogues in it though, they felt out of place even within the nonsense. However, I loved everything else about this poem. The creepy, paranoia in the first stanza followed by the strange, inner knowledge gained in the second stanza. Nothing makes sense yet it does. Wonderfully abstract!
