Humanity, Morality

Bound in these chains of indecision,

morally crossed within improvision,

my inquisition's driving me in a limbo.

Here I learn that peace is within reverence,

arguably, supposedly, fear sustains benevolence.

So I sustain this existence in fear, to live in ignorance?

With this dull light at tunnel end, I can't find endurance.

Humanity, morality, what should it all mean to me?

Inquisition has a dead end, and we can only be so much.

I live by a rule, and I'll find inner peace believably,

but what's it worth if my senses go out of touch?

Mortality, Finality, is all that can be certain,

so sanctimony of humanity only downs the curtain.

Can birds fly?  With feathers falling from the sky,

free will binds us, and no matter how hard we try,

if we spread these wings, we'll soon fall down and die.

Icarus warned us to stray far from the sun,

feet planted firmly on the ground, take flight-strike one,

the closer we come to light, the larger the shadow cast grows,

and since this wax melts away and we fall, nobody ever knows...

Fire, ashen remains recreate something pure,

when even angels fall, how can we be so sure?

Halo and horn, light and dark, I walk unto undecided ends.

We walk to the paths taught, but now I seek something true,

I've seen so many dead ends, I seek the road that follows through.

So many people turned back at the waters, I walk through the rain,

and though the sky screams and threatens flashes, I'll move through this pain...

Individuality's a decoration and our mental reality's just a categoration,

no matter how hard we try, we're but the repetition of a fallen nation.

This is a truly incredible poem. From it, I can probabbly gather that you're more of the intellectual writer.

''Icarus warned us to stray far from the sun,

feet planted firmly on the ground, take flight-strike one,

the closer we come to light, the larger the shadow cast grows,

and since this wax melts away and we fall, nobody ever knows...''

Yes, indeed it seems that here you imply that the fullfillment of man's dreams merely gives way to greater and greater expectation. And even more tragically, as the last line possibly conveys, the dreams which man does bring to fruition often go unoticed.^

Great job. I'll be reviewing chapter two of your book tommorrow^^
