Mary Had a Little Lamb(Fresh for the Slaughter)

Mary Had a Little Lamb(Fresh for the Slaughter)

A Poem by Demyra

Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb, who’s fleece was white as snow.
Everywhere that Mary went, Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went, that lamb was sure to go.

My condolences to the lamb, facing it’s masterful decapitation,
At the hands of its idol, the hands of it’s all.
I sympathize with the prey, trusting the hunter’s deception,
For when the hunter’s ready, it won’t have a chance to crawl.

Mary had a little lamb who’s fleece was white as snow,
Separated and isolated, it had nowhere to go.
Mary had a little lamb, that only wanted her,
Every moment spent without her made his reality blur.

Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb, who’s fleece was white as snow.
Everywhere that Mary went, Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went, that lamb was sure to go.

Mary had a little lamb, raised to give all it had,
Mary had a little lamb, fresh for the slaughter.
Maybe as her father cut apart the meat the lamb would wake and cry,
Wondering why, if it was so loyal, why it would have to die?
Mary had a little lamb, but thoughts of her desecrate the remains,
All the lamb ever did was love her, why’d he have to face these pains?
I warn you now, all of you, the two legged lamb,
No matter how much this hurts, she won’t give a damn.
Mary had a little lamb, it’s insides were cut out, skin hung out to dry,
Mary feasted well from the warm meat, she didn’t think to say goodbye.

Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb, who’s fleece was white as snow.
Everywhere that Mary went, Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went, that lamb was sure to go.

Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb, who’s fleece was white as snow.
Everywhere that Mary went, Mary went, Mary went,
Everything that lamb had felt, Mary would never know.

I love this.
It's a bit sick, yet profoundly fascinating.
I love how you took an old nursery rhyme and
turned it into an AMAZING write.
I can relate to Mary but also to the lamb.
I'm adding this to my favorites.
