The Heart Exhumed

The Heart Exhumed

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

Day 8 of National Poetry Month 2017 (Deliberately exaggerated darkness)

"

Is the heart exhumed

forever doomed

to walk a path of pain ?

If that's the case

feel free to place

a bullet in my brain.

Thanks, Sharon. Sometimes I really miss the old days writing truly dark stuff. I miss you too. ~Jim
Your deliberately exaggerated poem, reads beautifully. I love the alliteration, assonance and rhyme scheme. Lets hope the 'heart exhumed' gets a new lease of life so it won't be necessary to 'place a bullet in my brain'. I enjoyed this poem.

Love can send us into the dark places sometimes. It does seem heartache follows us till we are gone. Intense write, Jim. Lydi**
