Cosmic Serpents

Feathered serpent descends
dust rises from the ancient pyramid
dragon of gold with eyes like rubies
thirteen diamonds on her back

Rattlesnakes appear with the rising of the sun
from the east, seven snakes glowing like stars
from the west, six snakes dark like a moonless night

I hear the sound of a clear voice in my ears
"the long count has ended
put my feather in your hair
take up the sacred axe
the cosmic serpents have awakened"

what a journey, this cosmic spirit could bring to us all, what's the sound a spirit makes before a strike? : a whisper, a whisper before nailing the skin, a warning before letting it sink in, you have outlined that moment before impact in this poem with perfection, with such venom, a whisper the cosmos are listening to amplifying in soul strung accords of this poem prophetic to the wound we feel coming on....amazing stuff

wow ..how deep in contrast and metaphorical images..snakes mean so much in physical and spiritual sense...actually paraphased it can mean ..start now and look and act.. many more things as well.. spirtual DD...My snakes tell me so much in that the thunder and lightening come from them...
