Outcast

You've been an outcast for far too long,

you, not longer recognize your reflection,

it seems the longer you try to fit in,

you lose a piece of yourself.

The longer you try to blend in,

you grow weaker each day,

you try to find your way out

but you lose hope, 

the darkness overcast your world.

Step back and look deep inside,

listen to your heart,

even if you feel you don't belong,

there is a place for you,

keep fighting and you will find the light

to guide you back to find yourself once again.

The longer you linger within the storm,

you will lose sight of who you truly are,

despite what others say,

you are your own persona,

once you understand your uniqueness,

the sun will rise again.

it reminds me of plato's allegory of the cave wherein there is the emotion called fear and how we become outcasts of ourselves because of fear, but as they say we have to overcome it despite how hard it will be, so we have to fight because we believe we have our own places in this world.
