Finger

Finger

A Poem by Destinyxi

Finger

I offered you my tears

You took them with a smile

Now I offer you my finger

You look at it with a frown

My sadness

My pain

Has turned into anger

But the anger isn’t hatred

I offer you nothing else

And you will take

Nothing more

Twist our history

Mimic my words

Copy my emotions

But in the end

You’ll get nothing

Out of it

I’m done with your games

I forfeit

You win

But you don’t win

Fair and square

I can’t take back

The things I’ve said

But then again

Why would I?

I’ve held on

Like a cat in fear

Digging my claws

Into your skin

Puncturing and wounding you

But worry not

I’ve declawed myself

My nails are gone

I have nothing more

To hold onto you with

I’m done looking

Up to you

When all you did was

Look down on me

I’m done licking your wounds

As well as mine

Take my finger

It’s all I offer you now

I like this, it shows a firmness, there's an oomph, like how you're done being the seeker and ready to throw an unworthy relationship in the trash. I like the way you commenced your flow of discrepancies in your emotions, some hatred, some pain. The short words were powerful enough to beware the subject, and this feeling of anger is certainly something that I can relate to as well. Good job.
