like the wolf-

like the wolf-

A Poem by Melody P-

Like the wolf...run the night
Swift and fierce and colored white
Watch with the eyes, for that's where it's all seen
Run the night..so sly and keen

So sharp the fangs that rip the flesh
With blood so sweet... The meat so fresh
Just run the night, survive- release-
Calm the hunger... It will increase

With a scent you linger, then you lurk
And with your face, those eyes- that smerk-
Taste the hunt... Seek your prey
Make your move, but don't delay

Take cover, hide- observe-
Feed the hunger that you serve
Now is the time, Move in- attack-
The night still young. The sky still black

With surprise... make your mark
Fuel to the fire, ignite the spark
Circle round with eyes that scream
With a threat to the soul, to the core extreme

Quick you move and always fierce
Strong your bite, deep the pierce
To the victor the spoils, you continue on
The game be played and there lay the pawn

Claim your prize, take your part
The pack moves in, with your claim you depart
Escape really quick with an urge to retire
Fill the belly full, endured the desire

So on you go with that will that you strive
Engulf the night..Your will to survive
Extend your sight, howl to the moon
The sun will rise a moment to soon

Cry with the call to the stories that you tell
Return to rest to the place that you dwell
Lick the wounds that surely bleed
Endure the will, the want, the need

you write with talent abundance! i can say i really
enjoyed every eloquent aspect you desribe, the
Stunning imagery takes one to the hunt, so to speak,
the dreamy creativity flows through every word, the
way you metaphorically descibe lustful passions is sure-fire
hypnotic, written with natural poetic captivation. mike

I usually don't like rhyming but the fact that you didn't use the normal simple rhymes really made for an enjoying read. It had a good flow and read with rhythem. Great work!

Excellent write! there is nothing for me to say, this is so professionaly written. I LOVE wolves! In a respectful way. I love their power and I envy their freedom and I want them to keep it! The way that you describe the wolf is as if you are the wolf.

Excellent, Excellent!

I came back to read this again... one typo... smirk

I'm smirking, not sleeping...

I love the tightness of the rhyme along with its colour. You're a damn fine poet, Miss P

I felt like I was running with the pack while reading this. Of course, wolfs and pigs don't really get along. Just look what happened to my two brother's houses. :) Good read.
