Caged

We live in a world,
Where the aggressive gets ahead,
And the meek stays seated,
Wallowing the remnants of war,
And dusting off relics, left overs.

A place where a piece of mind,
Equates a peace of mind.
A place where shallow minds,
Vibrates to towers,
And wise men are too humble,
To even speak.

We age, and we’re caged
but we will always thrive...

I think my "thriving" days are about over. I'm more into just surviving these days. And some days that seems like a lot of trouble I've brought on myself. I understand the meek staying seated. Every time I stand up for myself somebody steals my chair! And just when I think I've got that aging part down,they throw a new curve into it...sciatica, arthritis, heart disease, cancer...the list goes on and on. I feel like that caged lion in the Van Morrison song, "The Lion This Time". But I enjoyed the read.

Thanks for your inquisitive response and for your honesty. Well, time is such a killer. But, spend it wisely and it can turn life around. =) Keep on surviving then, but you seem like a good soul. Don't be too hard on yourself, life, I believe is always worth it. =)
