Artificial realityA Poem by Devisree AnoopToday's world from the eyes of a full-bloomed treeThe street is crowded with dashing vehicles touring around; But the mass is moving slow with their heads bowed and gazes
focused on their screens. While a few found comfortable seats just beneath the benches
on my pavement, To my surprise, I saw them wearing smart glasses beneath my
visual extravagance I played a whimsical melody gently swaying my twigs Though no one gave ears to my chimes, for most of them had
plugged-in ears Soundproofing this world beyond their self-imposed
boundaries, Later I changed my tone that turned to a scream in pain Voicing to look up and see a long-fulfilled dream of my
three generations in full bloom, All I could see were my virtual images flashing on screens
that passed by me I remembered their forefathers who planted us to astonish them
with spectacular visual treats But everything went in vain as this new world always says Each moment that count matters to swift from one notion to
another Blurring the lines between real and virtual. © 2018 Devisree AnoopFeatured Review
