I stand alone in this darkness
I stand alone in this depression
I stand alone in this fire
I stand alone in this world
I stand alone in this cave
I stand alone in this debate
I stand alone in this journey
I stand alone in this war
I stand alone in this execution
I stand alone in this trial
I stand alone in this forest
I stand alone in this adventure
I stand alone in this curse
I stand alone in this realm
I stand alone in this path
I stand alone in this handicap
I stand alone in this torture
I stand alone in this addiction
I stand alone in this dream

The repetition of "I stand alone" running the entire length of the poem very much drove home just how overwhelming feelings of isolation and depression can grow.
