A drop of love

A drop of love

A Poem by Nkosana B Masuku
"

Ones encounter to a mystical force of love

"
I find the world mystical.
A place where even science has its limits,
Pertaining particularly to the matters
Of the Heart.
How on earth could you ever explain
A simple common phenomenon such
As love in biological terms?
Just a pure drop of it and
Your whole life is
Transformed.
Like a drug,
You become lost in a different dimension,
A dimension where you discover
A different side to yourself you never
Knew about,
And only the sky seems to be the
Limit.
That's a glimpse of how it
Was for me.
I fell in love and my entire world
Was turned upside down
As if a paradigm shift.
I learnt what it meant to immensely
Care for another soul...,
A soul which mirrors your reflection,
One which completes you,
And for once in life,
You find yourself
Lost without it.

A lovely poem about love and its affect upon you that is heartfelt and introspective. Well crafted free verse. Flow is good as is the line to line transition and breaks. Nice rhythm and enjambment. Nice use of simile. Good depth of feeling. I especially like the last five lines of your poem. Well penned. write on!

"A soul which mirrors your reflection." Very nice. That is true love - unexplainable.
