The Delta

The Delta

A Story by Gabri

To the right of me, the mountains had been touched with pale lavender, giving them an ethereal appearance. I turned then, to see where the light was coming from. As soon as my eyes met the sun, I was completely stopped. It erased all commonplace. The puddles turned pink. The driftwood cast enlarged shadows. The air was given a magical quality. The fierce light threw itself over the top of our bluff as if the hand of God was encompassing our home. I lifted my face and threw my arms wide as I could capture the blessing of God.

Powerful imagery. I very much like this. I've always been a sucker for writing that speaks to the senses. You've painted a very nice picture here. Keep it up.
