LOST FAMILY

LOST FAMILY

A Poem by DiamondNRough AKA Patty Rase Hopson
"

I was inspired after Hurricane Katrina to write this poem. I am sure all those victims would agree, Love today, because your not guarenteed tomorrow.

"

Lost Family

I see fathers in tears.
In tears because of their fears.

I see mothers in despair.
In despair because their children
Can not be found near.

What these parents would give to
Know their children are still alive.
To once again hug them
and say "I love you" one more time.

Your so selfish, to know your daughter
And her family is still alive, but you continue
Your actions of deny.

Brothers and Sisters everywhere
Show how much they care,
But mine send an attorney letter,
Stating with out me life is better.

Standing up for what is right
Has had an expensive price for me,
But the reward in the end
Is salvation with him, for me.

Beautiful. I absolutely adore the total lack of egoism in it, and the understanding of human emotional pain.

Very sad, but nice all the same. The flow it just a touch off, but this is a piece you should be proud of.
