A poem about the power of words

WORDS

I am no good with economy
my words are breeding like mice
jocund words, absurb words
clever, silly and nice.
Words follow you everywhere
and sometimes lead the way
Words to describe you
or bribe you. Words won't go away.
Blank them out with meditation.
They can make you ill, words can kill
or be your daily medication.
Words can incite a riot
Be euphoric or keep you quiet.
They can liberate or conquer States
By trial or error they can eradicate
euphoric dreams
don't let them subjugate
your opinions.
I'll feed these words
to passing birds
on their way to paradise
and thank my English teacher
who stopped me using 'nice'.

I love your words. Seriously. You have wonderful word choice and as a former English teacher, I know that teacher would be very proud of you. Speaking of "nice," another one to avoid is "great." I hate it when people describe something as "great." It's such a generic, over-used term that it really gives no insight at all. I won't do that to you. This poem is exquisitely wonderful. How about that for some nice (haha) words?
