Nightmares

Up all night with these nightmares that invade my head

Why do I find it hard to sleep in my bed

Hour upon hour I lay motionless staring at my celing

Nothing I try will fight away this feeling

My eyelids are heavy yet far from giving in

The line between sweet dreams and nightmares is thin

My body will not give in to my pleads for rest

I know I'm there but I feel my mind is possessed

These nightmares are guilty for my bloodshot eyes

I begin to grow hot as my soul slowly dies

My soul leaves me and a demon invades

Scratches appear on my leg that seem to be cut with blades

 

Tears roll down my face knowing I can't take this pain

The demon has left my body but in my room a bloddy rain

This beast from hell returns and tortures me even more

It chokes mu until im gone, with relif it walks out the door

Your poem is well thought out. I like the rhyming at the end of each line, that is hard to do. You use imagery to capture your readers, almost like they are in your night mare, which is great. I don't know why the whole poem is double spaced, and the last four lines are together. I feel like the two lines in the quatrain transition too quickly. "The demon has left my body but in my room a bloody rain/ This beast from hell returns and tortures me even more" I like the lines, but maybe you can use more imagery, emotion, feelings. Great job!
