the other side

the other side

A Poem by Dionysian Gnostic

a weathered cobblestone bridge
dripping with lush foliage
on either side
appears quite charming
and despite being in disrepair
has managed to hold steady

thousands of wandering feet
have stepped across it
oblivious and ungrateful
for having stood on its crumbling reach
in hopes of visiting the other side

as the rain pours a hammering chisel
and the sun beats heartlessly cracking
once sturdy foundations
many a stone will be cast aside

no longer able to reach out
a once great arch
held true with abutments
will cease to care
that it was once part of two
places quietly meeting

and the many who journeyed
over it will lose their way
not knowing the difference

LOVE this part, this to me is kind of deep, I like the writing style, and the descriptiveness. awesome write.
