The dissapearing thought

The dissapearing thought

A Poem by Jordan Smith
"

What happens with your imagination at the very end

"
A spark,
a dream,
a thought.
It flashes in your head.

You see this thought
and you wonder
how and why does
this thought exist.

You scramble for an
answer to calm yourself,
only to find that
there is no answer in sight.

You battle yourself
to the breaking point,
then your thought
starts to die.

Trying to salvage
what's left of this
thought, you retrace
your steps.

However, the end is here.
No way around it.
This thought of happiness,
just like you, is all
but dead.

This is exactly what it's like. Dreams are so weird.

Dreams are so interesting, so mysterious. You perfectly capture the thought process of one after a dream, someone wondering what happened, what it means, why is has occurred. Nice work.

I dare say this is a perfect picture of what this experience is like. I thought of dreams and of trying to cling to those fleeting nighttime memories.

This is a beautiful way to describe the build up to death and the inner battle that we have, my favourite stanza being
'trying to salvage
what's left of this
thought, you retrace
your steps'
Very well written!
Georgie.
