A Writer's Home

A Writer's Home

A Poem by Jordan Smith
"

A little bit of a look into a writer's perspective

"
A Writer's home
lies on the pages
of a journal,
the pen a designer
the heart as the key.

A Writer's story
goes any place at any time.
Good or bad,
it doesn't matter.

A Writer's love
shows with every line.
Happy or sad,
in love or in denial-
it is always there.

A Writer's hand,
soft and caring.
Yet, can be harmful and cruel
all the same.

A Writer's eyes,
seeing things from a persepective
unlike any other's in the world.
Yet somehow, everyone relates.

A Writer's desk,
some cluttered in their work
and in their book collection,
others as clean as a whistle.
Either way, both serve
the same purpose.

No matter what,
one thing always remains.
A writer's home
lies on the pages
of a journal,
the pen a designer,
the heart as the key.

Just something quick that I whipped up. Trying to get back to consistently writing poetry. Also, working on a project that I will hopefully have finished within the next year or so. Please let me know what I could have done better with this one. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a good day!

I love the concept of this. I love the heart and honesty to it, but I feel as though maybe, if you made it a little more personal that it would stand out more. It might become a little more memorable. Which please, don't get me wrong, is not everything in a poem - it's just that so many people have written this, and so few put their own spin on it. Your voice is a wonderful thing, and there's no reason to keep it out of anything you do or say.

P.s. I really do enjoy the piece, this is just something I'm far more passionate about than most people. I hope you do not take it to mean that I am being rude or anything of that sort.

Wish you all the best, happy writing!

I love this so much. It's simple but the main point of it was so strong, also common and i like how you described the things that writers are going through and such.

My favorite stanza, besides the last stanza of course, is:
"A Writer's eyes,
seeing things from a persepective
unlike any other's in the world.
Yet somehow, everyone relates"

Not saying that people write so others could relate, but it's nice that when you thought about something in your perspective and sometimes thinking it's odd and such, you wouldn't thought that few other people think the same as well. Also, what i love about this writing and this site as well is that, you write something with one perspective and people would tell you that they relate as well, but in a different way. It's just so cool and amazing that one writing could have lots of perspectives on it.

Overall, again, i loveeeee your writing! Please keep on writing, you're amazing :)

I like this one, the rhythm is good, but feel it could be distilled, a bit more personal insight as to what compels you to write.

I read your profile and would love to read some poems based on sports.

Thank you Christos! I hope to be able to get some more poems out soon!
I liked the metaphors you used, for instance that of 'the heart is the key.'

You're welcome.
Your poem flows smoothly and feels like it wrote itself.
I would probably change few words here and there to suit my taste. All in all it sounds beautiful.
I agree with you completely that a writer's home lies on the pages of its journal.
