The Lucky Ones

The Lucky Ones

A Poem by dramamine
"

Interpret it how ever you want.

"

Born to die. I got a black eye, you got a black tie.

Bone dry and ready to fly. Summertime regret.

Jet set. And ready to forget.

I got debt, you got a corvette.

Live free, die young. Among the lucky ones.

Hired guns, midnight suns, and reruns. Ready for fun.

Among the lucky ones. Outrun the nuns.

Survive and just drive. Thrive among the deprived.

Set in your ways. Slay your prey. That’s okay.

Today to run away. Open road, reload, and corrode.

Late dawns and early sunsets. Upset the threat. Reborn.

Don’t mourn the torn. Prick me with your thorn.

Candy corn and French horns. Among the lucky ones.
