Mournful

Mournful

A Poem by Danni

Mournful~

I cry to the wind
I cry to the river
I cry to the soul
All in a deep fervor

I see in my mind
That I'm all alone
Hopeless and doubtful
Along the roads I roam

Walking along a twisted path
I call for the heavens
Reach for a savior
Pray for salvation

And look up towards the thundering clouds
Dodging the night strike by strike
Leaving all to be alone in the solemn moon's light

Slowly returning home to repent my sins
Appease the dark lord's wishes
Creature of sins, lewd and sinful are his kisses

The solemn night hears my sadness
It reaches out to me, I'm enveloped in its folds
It holds me tight and light
Striving to keep me whole

I take the night's power in my hand and scatter my hopes
Turning to the heavens
I pledge to wretched souls

I accept my destined path
And cry to the heavens no more

I thought I lost the meaning. Is this a vampire story?

No, it's a story about how sometimes you just have to give in to your dark side.

Got it. Don't give in too much. :p

Hi Danni. I did like how you started this poem!! Your story of trying to redeem yourself is a sad tale but you have presented it well, alf

Very nicely done. I think it's sad that the narrator seems to give up hope in the end... but that is the truth of most situations like this. I like the way you display it truthfully. Keep Dreaming.
