Hipology Psychology

Hipology Psychology

A Poem by Chase Dylan
"

What's in a name...

"
I got an enemy ahead ah-me 'n' evil entity centipede identity amphetamine
Instead ah-me takin' dreadful hits of realities sodomy oughta be lobotomized dead full of similes
Romanticized partiality i'm of a desensitized particularity
Particularly an obituary laced with pseudonyms hidden grace
Trace of hipology psychology shadows my synonyms when choosing a face

yes, I like this, I can visualise someone up on stage thrusting each word out into the universe for people to make of them what they will. I can see people sitting and listening and unconsciously moving their heads to the beat of the words and every so often nodding, mouth open in aggreeance ... nice one my friend X

"I got an enemy ahead ah-me 'n' evil entity centipede identity amphetamine
Instead ah-me takin' dreadful hits of realities sodomy oughta be lobotomized dead full of similes" - love the grittiness in these two lines. It creates a smooth flow with word association on top of rhyming. I appreciate the words leading up to "ah-me," I think it's imperative to use similar words to emphasize the sound you're going for.

Thanks so much, I agree...
This is my favorite of the ones of yours I have read so far. I am with the others that have said it has a hip hop feel. I can definitely feel that as well. When KWP said that she could see people every so often nodding their heads, I actually had that vision in my head. I hate to sound like I am just copying someone else but that is what this poem did to me as well. This is excellent!

Thanks much, PRS, it means the world to me from such a wonderful writer such as yourself...
there are two sides to every story, there are two sides to every poet---the writer side and the one who observes but isn't even aware that he or she writes---that muse trance that happens...
we might think we are crazy...but we are just writers.

Aloha silente, this was incredible to read and demonstrates your hip hop style so well. I really love 90's hip hop to me this has a Mos Def meets Rakim flow and attitude about it. I really like the following line a lot...

"Romanticized partiality i'm of a desensitized particularity"

Kolohe (rascal) good read. Izzy
